Draft-a-Dragon started with a misunderstanding...
One night Draft-a-Dragon creators Tanner Johnson and William Ritter were discussing new game ideas on their way to grab an outstandingly mediocre pizza. Tanner suggested a drafting game in which players would draft parts of dragons. William thought that meant the players would literally line up the cards to build dragons. Tanner allowed that William should really pay better attention, and no, that is not what he meant, but he liked the idea anyways. So, William threw together a prototype and Draft-a-Dragon was born--er--hatched?

Over a year-long time period, William and Tanner continued to refine Draft-a-Dragon. With the help of good friends, good feedback, and good beer, they managed to iron out wrinkles and create a surprisingly fun, but pleasantly brief little game.

The Creators of Draft-a-Dragon
Tanner Johnson, Co-Designer.
Tanner is the "Game Master" at Well Played, Asheville's new boardgame cafe. I'm sure he has hobbies other than flint knapping and making and collecting boardgames. He's from Sylva, N.C. and should probably write his own bios. |
William Ritter, Co-Designer, Illustrator & Graphic Artist.
William is an old time fiddler and player of "string-ed things." (You can visit his music's website here) He is an avid seed saver, gardener, and folklorist, but his secret hobby is making boardgames. |
